Good nutriton is vital for the healthy growth of your baby. Breast milk is the ideal first food. Infant formula too has its place as an alternative for when breastfeeding is not possible.
At around 6-7 months, babies begin to sit up with support, the first set of teeth is almost out (central incisors), are able to control their head and often put anything they find into their mouth.Furthermore, at this stage , they may seem less satisfied with the milk. These are indications that they are ready to eat solid food themselves, which complements the milk that they are given.
Since all babies grow and develop differently, it would be advisable to consult your local health advisor or paeditrician before weaning.
